Facility Officer – HiVE (Ebbw Vale)

37 hours per week

This is an opportunity to become part of the team of Facility Officers. This post is to be based at the HiVE (Ebbw Vale) but will include providing cover, as required at other College Campus sites.

  • Unlocking and locking College premises
  • Carrying out a range of tests for example emergency lighting and fire alarms
  • Moving furniture, setting up classrooms, exam halls
  • Delivering packages around the site, liaising with contractors
  • Undertaking general cleaning, security and maintenance repair tasks

You must have a good working knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and their application in the workplace. You should have the ability to drive the campus minibuses, or be prepared to undertake training.

Facility Officers come into contact with learners, staff and members of public throughout the working day and it is essential that a polite, professional and helpful attitude is displayed at all times.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) if appropriate. Successful candidates will be expected to pay for the Enhanced Disclosure and registration with the Education Workforce Council. Lecturing posts will require a teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE) or the willingness to attain one with a specified period of time.
