Job description

Working Pattern: A typical monthly shift working pattern is:

  • Shift work pattern – 2 days on / 2 nights on / 4 days off.
  • Shift work pattern – 2 days on / 2 nights on / 4 days off.
  • Shift work pattern – 2 days on / 2 nights on / 10 days off.

Shift times are 06:30-18:30 / 18:30-06:30.

Job Overview

Your role is to work alongside one of our strategic clients to provide round the clock, on‑site Engineering & Facility Support. Based in the control room you will provide oversight to the smooth running of the facility and its critical infrastructure 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will be required to monitor the performance of critical systems and assets to ensure the best possible experience is delivered to the customer. A key part of the team providing technical support for the site team, controlling planned maintenance works, electrical switching and organising reactive response through to resolution by leading the reactive response to emergency events/incidents and bringing them to a safe conclusion – e.g. Fire, Flood, Power Outage – ensuring the customer is kept always updated. You will be required to have an in depth understanding of Electrical and Mechanical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive monitoring and fault/issue identification across various systems.
  • Enable effective response plans to mitigate impact to the system(s) and overall service delivery, and see through to resolution.
  • Deliver effective communication and escalation both internally and externally.
  • Administration of subcontractor maintenance & emergency callout (both planned & reactive).
  • Work closely with the team to develop and test training exercises for scenario testing.
  • Carry out duties of an Electrical HV AP for the site.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Well rounded and experienced Electrical Engineer.
  • Relevant qualifications: City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, City & Guilds 2391, and 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations.
  • Experience using a range of maintenance equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Able to start with a maximum 4‑week notice and hit the ground running.
  • Confident to attain Electrical Approved Person (HV) in the near future.
  • Great customer focus and effective communication skills, with sound knowledge of BMS based engineering applications and the ability to work on own initiative.
