Job summary

IWFM is seeking a proactive Facilities Manager/Engineer to keep a busy UK manufacturing site running while shaping long-term improvements. You will split your time between day-to-day maintenance and delivering capital works, budgeting, and infrastructure planning to support growth.

You’ll lead contractor management, ensure compliance, and drive energy saving initiatives, with a focus on safety, efficiency and reliability on site. Strong planning is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing facilities within manufacturing/industrial environments.
• HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Knowledge of PUWER, LOTO and statutory compliance.
• Experience delivering facilities improvements or CapEx projects.
• Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH.
• Experience using CMMS or planned maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to day-to-day building and facilities issues (plumbing, drainage, roofing, utilities).
• Manage contractors for reactive and planned works.
• Oversee site services, utilities and infrastructure.
• Ensure statutory inspections and compliance activities are completed.
• Manage Permit to Work, RAMS and contractor safety.
• Support production by resolving facilities issues quickly to minimise downtime.
• Develop and maintain a rolling 0–3 year facilities improvement plan.
• Deliver CapEx projects from concept to completion.
• Prepare budgets, quotations and business cases.
• Improve maintenance planning and CMMS systems.
• Drive energy, sustainability and cost-saving initiatives.
• Plan future infrastructure upgrades to support growth.
• Report project progress to senior management.
