What are we looking for

We have an opportunity for a Facilities Manager where you will be responsible for over‑seeing day to day operations and maintenance of the building or facility ensuring safety, functionality and wellbeing including themanagement of budgets, coordination of contractors and ensuring legal compliance with safety regulations aremaintained at all times for the Facilities and Maintenance teams.

Responsibilities
Operational & Facilities Management
  • Support day‑to‑day building operations, including planned and reactive maintenance, hygiene, and security.
  • Coordinate facilities contractors and suppliers to ensure high‑quality service delivery and compliance with RAM’s.
  • Carry out regular site and equipment inspections and maintain accurate, including asset registers, PPM schedules and compliance documentation for Facilities and Maintenance.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain and update health and safety records and compliance documentation to ensure legal compliance for the site/buildings.
  • Support risk assessments, permits to work, and other statutory processes.
  • Promote a culture of safety, well‑being, and operational excellence across Facilities.
Communication
  • Act as the first point of contact for facilities queries and maintenance issues.
  • Support effective building communication, events, and engagement initiatives.
  • Help ensure occupier satisfaction through prompt, proactive, and solution‑focused service.
Administration & Reporting
  • Assist with contractor performance monitoring.
  • Support reporting processes for contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide project support for refurbishment and improvement works.
About You
Knowledge and Experience
  • Awareness of the S,Q,D,C,P (or equivalent) model of communication
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment in a supervising role
  • A good awareness of document control and organisational skills
  • Experience of a project environment would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experience in the generation of method statements/SOP/ SSOW and risk assessments
  • Experience at delivering to plan right first time
  • Clear knowledge of competencies required in the allocated operational areas
  • Full understanding of the shop floor policies and procedures
  • Experienced at managing workflow
  • Good understanding of 6S
  • A good background in facilities management experienced in the control of both ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ service provision
  • Knowledge of M&E systems/installations with an understanding of the operation of HVAC, electrical distribution and generation, UPS, comms room, fire detection/protection and other engineering systems including building management and energy management systems
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work dynamically and reprioritise tasks
  • Practical, analytical and logical problem‑solving skills
  • A team player with strong people skills who can engage and motivate team members
  • A good level of IT competence in Microsoft packages
  • Must be able to positively influence and build good working relationships with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Manage your own time and that of your individual team members effectively
