Job summary

AWE in the UK is offering an onsite apprenticeship at Aldermaston and/or Burghfield. You’ll learn how facilities are managed, supporting inspections, drills and work requests while collaborating with experienced teams.

The role develops core skills in planning, communication and attention to detail, with eligibility including GCSEs and British nationality, and a requirement to obtain security clearance before joining on 1 September 2027.

• Onsite apprenticeship based at AWE Aldermaston and/or Burghfield, with every other Friday off.

This is an onsite apprenticeship. Being onsite will help you understand how facilities operate day to day, build relationships with building users and learn directly from experienced teams.

Where this apprenticeship could take you

When you complete your apprenticeship, you could move into a Facilities Management role, using your knowledge to support AWE’s buildings, work with the people based in them and contribute ideas that improve how AWE operates.

What happens after you apply

• Online application Submit one apprenticeship application before the role closes.
• Online testing If eligible, you’ll complete numerical, verbal, logical and cognitive reasoning assessments. Practice materials will be available.
• Assessment centre Successful candidates will be invited to an in-person assessment centre, currently scheduled for 14 and 21 January 2027.
• Offer, medical and clearance If successful, you’ll move into the offer, medical and security-clearance stages ahead of joining on 1 September 2027.
