Context for the role
- Workplace Solutions (WPS) ensures great workplaces for the business, colleagues, clients, and customers. We ensure M&G plc has the right property in the right location at the right time, demonstrating cost transparency, value for money, and providing the best user experience, all aligned with our risk management approach.
- The Operations team in WPS manages the day-to-day operations, safety, and security of M&G’s property portfolio and incident management.
- This role supports the Operations team in managing supplier relationships and contracts with third-party FM suppliers, providing professional reports and dashboards based on data analysis.
- Responsibilities include maintaining safe, sustainable workplaces, managing third-party FM contracts, presenting supplier performance to SLT, planning estate future readiness, supporting project delivery, and managing audits.
Key functions
- Support the Senior Leadership Team in managing and leading WPS.
- Oversee management, auditing, planning, financial, operational, and risk aspects related to:
- Critical electrical, mechanical, plumbing assets, and civil engineering assets
- Infrastructure supporting health, safety, and security policies
- FM services including mail, security, building fabric, M&E, cleaning, landlord, and tenant management
- FM project expertise and operational readiness
- Review project O&M’s with engineering teams
- Manage third-party suppliers involved in estate management.
- Coordinate incident and crisis response plans with the global health, safety, and security manager.
- Develop and govern property standards and ensure compliance with external regulations.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Manage FM contracts, including audits, KPI delivery, compliance, and performance reporting.
- Lead risk assessments and advise on control measures to reduce risks.
- Support sustainability initiatives and ensure equipment calibration and testing.
- Manage supplier relationships, including SRM program participation and performance tracking.
- Oversee data analysis and reporting for continuous improvement.
- Lead and manage property-related projects up to £50k.
- Drive technological innovations and automation in facilities management.
- Maintain confidentiality, demonstrate strong stakeholder influence, and deliver results with high standards.
- Ensure compliance with risk management and safety standards.
Person specification
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary FM contracts within a large international organization.
- Degree or professional qualification in a relevant field (engineering, science, FM).
- Professional memberships (IWFM, RICS, CIBSE, IET, etc.) preferred.
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and risk management skills.
- Knowledge of construction and CDM regulations is desirable.
