Facilities Management Estimator

My client is a well-respected industry leader within the Facilities Management sector, boasting an excellent reputation and exciting plans for growth. They are now seeking an Estimator to join their expanding team.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to come off the tools and move into a more customer-facing, surveying and estimating position. You'll be travelling to supermarkets and commercial sites to price up a wide range of building fabric jobs - anything from pothole repairs, guttering, hanging doors, relaying flooring, or quoting for new gate posts.

You’ll be the face of the business on site, so strong communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with clients and partners are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a full estimating process, producing accurate specifications, project costings and bills of materials across varied building fabric works.
• Visit supermarkets and customer sites to assess works, conduct detailed site surveys and prepare quotes.
• Meet both new and existing customers, providing professional, friendly and knowledgeable service.
• Ensure all quotations meet internal SLAs and are delivered on time and with precision.
• Provide accurate bill of materials to internal teams, ensuring tools, plant and materials are ready ahead of project commencement.
• Compile project packs, incorporating health & safety considerations, site restrictions and all relevant documentation.
• Support project planning and contribute to maximising customer satisfaction and profitability.

Requirements

• Experience as an estimator within construction or building fabric works.
• Ideal for someone transitioning off the tools into an estimating role.
• Knowledge of business operating systems such as Sage 200 (preferred).
• CAD experience is beneficial.
• CSCS, IOSH, SMSTS or similar qualifications.
• Understanding of relevant legislation.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Competent computer skills, particularly in Excel.
• Customer-focused with a results-driven approach.
