Job description

CULTA is currently looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our hard‑working Facilities team in Cambridge, MD. The Technician will inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs to facility HVACR, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Must ensure all tasks are performed efficiently, correctly, and in accordance with all current SOPs.
  • Responsible for maintaining full compliance throughout the facility and keeping maintenance logs up to date.
  • Coordinate with contractors as needed to keep facilities and equipment in proper working order.
  • Hands‑on worker involved in all aspects of system functionality: monitoring systems, inspecting for proper function, recommending repairs, and either completing the repairs in house or referring to contractors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all facility HVACR and Water Management systems: coil cleaning, filter changes, drain maintenance, and other required tasks.
  • Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary.
  • Assist in equipment relocation, office moves, and janitorial duties as needed.
  • Use or learn computer software programs required for systems maintenance (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and programs needed to run and monitor climate control and fertigation systems).
Qualifications & Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; higher education a plus.
  • 2–4 years of facility maintenance experience.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, climb, and stand on a ladder or raised mobile platform.
  • Lift 50 lbs. or more regularly each day.
  • Ability to work onsite.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills and the ability to follow direction well.
  • Knowledge of mechanics and basic function of irrigation and climate control systems (lighting, HVAC, CO2, etc).
  • Accurate attention to detail and decisive reasoning skills.
  • Must qualify as a registered agent with the State Commission and may not have any violent or drug‑related felony convictions.
