FirstPort in South East London is seeking a Maintenance Operative to help keep residents' homes safe and well maintained. Hours are Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm; you will support the Development Manager and ensure a clean, secure environment for residents and guests.

You will perform general maintenance, liaise with approved contractors, report defects, test emergency lighting and fire alarm systems, and keep accurate records in a professional team setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance tasks and upkeep.
• Ability to support health and safety standards.
• Ability to liaise with contractors and coordinate work.

Responsabilités

• Provide general maintenance support to the Development.
• Liaise with authorised contractors and notify Development Manager of start/completion.
• Report defects or incidents and take corrective action with Development Manager.
• Carry out monthly emergency light checks and ensure fire alarm checks with Development Manager.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and lighting issues.
• Undertake routine repairs and refit door locks.
• Ensure tools are maintained and used by authorised personnel.
• Pressure wash/clean bin stores and keep footpaths and communal areas clean.
• Carry out touch up paintwork in communal areas.
• Check and maintain terrace areas and watering of plants.
