Job summary

Norton Motorcycles in Solihull, West Midlands, is recruiting a Facilities & Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance and facilities function across our manufacturing site. You will be responsible for equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, site infrastructure and statutory compliance, ensuring production runs safely and efficiently.

Working with Production, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, you will drive continuous improvement, minimise downtime and support future manufacturing

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Engineering.
• Significant maintenance or facilities leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and asset management.
• Experience managing site infrastructure and utilities.
• Proven ability to reduce downtime and improve maintenance performance.
• Familiarity with health & safety legislation and compliance.
• Experience with CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage the Maintenance team with a safety-first culture.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to maximise uptime.
• Oversee reactive maintenance, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Manage site facilities, infrastructure and utilities (power, air, HVAC, water).
• Drive reliability through maintenance planning, data analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure tooling, jigs and fixtures are maintained and available to meet demand.
• Support CAPEX projects, installations, upgrades and commissioning with contractors.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and site requirements.
• Monitor KPIs, costs and performance to improve efficiency.

The role

Norton Motorcycles is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance and facilities function across our manufacturing site. You will be responsible for equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, site infrastructure and statutory compliance, ensuring production runs safely and efficiently.

Working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, you will drive continuous improvement, minimise downtime and support future manufacturing growth.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage the Maintenance team, promoting a proactive, safety-first culture

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to maximise equipment uptime and minimise breakdowns

• Oversee reactive maintenance, root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurring failures

• Manage site facilities, infrastructure and critical utilities, including power, compressed air, HVAC and water systems

• Drive equipment reliability and asset performance through maintenance planning, data analysis and continuous improvement

• Ensure production tooling, jigs and fixtures are maintained and available to meet operational demands

• Support CAPEX projects, equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning, managing contractors and suppliers

• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, statutory inspections and site requirements

• Monitor maintenance KPIs, costs and performance to improve efficiency and reliability

Skills/Experience

• Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Engineering

• Significant experience in a maintenance or facilities leadership role within a manufacturing environment

• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, asset management and equipment reliability

• Experience managing site infrastructure, critical utilities, contractors and suppliers

• Proven ability to reduce downtime and improve maintenance performance

• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and statutory compliance

• Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
