Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in building maintenance required.

  • Full, clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, install, and refurbish fabric and equipment across GBS estates.
  • Monitor building conditions and undertake repairs.
  • Assist in planning refurbishment projects.
  • Documentation and inventory management.
  • Travel between campuses as required.
  • Work across campus operating hours with occasional out-of-hours work to minimise disruption.

Skills

The Role

The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will maintain, install, and refurbish fabric and equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio. They will monitor building conditions, undertake repairs and renovations, and assist Estates and Facilities in planning refurbishment projects. This role may require travel to other GBS UK campuses and demands flexible working to accommodate business operations. Work is a 40‑hour week covering campus operating hours from Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 9:30 pm, with occasional out‑of‑hours work as required to minimise disruption and ensure smooth completion of maintenance tasks.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Manual skills, knowledge of refurbishment techniques
  • Flexible and proactive approach with a “can‑do” attitude
  • Familiarity with COSHH requirements for equipment and chemicals
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of the facilities team
  • Full, clean driving licence
