Overview

Job Description: Facilities Maintenance Engineer - Manufacturing Facility

Location: Wrexham, North Wales

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 08:00 – 17:15, Friday 08:00 – 16:15

We are recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organisation. This role is key to supporting maintenance projects across the factory, working closely with Production, Moulding, and Automation departments. You will provide electrical and mechanical expertise to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical installation and mechanical maintenance, following safe systems of work and isolation procedures.
  • Support general facility maintenance and improvement projects, including managing contractors where required.
  • Work to a maintenance schedule while remaining flexible to support Production and Moulding operations.
  • Assist with minor PLC programming adjustments.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and facility efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in TPM schedules and respond to production system breakdowns, including maintenance of automation equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Motivated to continuously improve knowledge and skills.
  • Creative problem solver, able to design and implement improvements to electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and confident in managing renovation and repair projects while adhering to health & safety procedures.
  • Strong communicator, able to work effectively with stakeholders and within a team.
  • Proactive and able to take ownership of tasks while following safe systems of work.
  • HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Ideally qualified to 18th Edition IEE regulations.
  • Experience or knowledge of small building projects, e.g., plumbing, boiler/heating systems.
