Job description

Facilities Management currently have a vacancy for Facilities Locker Assistant - 6 months Fixed term contract with the potential to be extended within our Corporate Asset Management Department. Facilities Locker Assistants are required to work across the police estate of West Midlands, based at Wolverhampton Central Police Station covering the Wolverhampton and Walsall areas. There will be some travelling between sites and partner buildings within those areas. Travel/mileage expenses incurred during working hours between different sites can be claimed for.

Role Purpose

To assist with the provision, allocation and inventory of uniform and personal lockers, incapacitant spray, body worn camera charging points and air-wave terminals (storage). In conjunction with day to day operations, and the relocation/movement of staff within the Police Estate and to assist with the clearance activities as required.

Responsibilities
  • To carry out regular audits of all provisions to capture new recruits or leavers, enabling inventories to be kept current and to claim back provision for re issue.
  • To maintain Share Point inventory and/or any manual inventories as necessary.
  • To identify any damaged or void lockers and arrange for repair or disposal, relocation or reallocation, as applicable. To request replacement lockers as necessary using the current processes.
  • To maintain stock of keys (and locks) as necessary, ensuring spares are readily available for issue.
  • To retrieve keys from leaving or moving officers in order to maintain stock.
  • To reset digital locks ready for reallocation.
  • To facilitate the clearance of lockers in accordance with Force Procedure, and local officers' engagement.
  • To reprovision storage needs during the relocation of officers.
  • To carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose and grading of the post that may from time to time be determined.
Essential Skills
  • Experience of following set processes, procedures and policies.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of working in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of accurate record keeping.
  • Knowledge of Share Point and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Able to travel across the West Midlands police estate.
  • An awareness of Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • Must be able to work on own initiative and possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Can competently create and update Share Point & Excel spreadsheets.
  • Clear communicator with good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Able to develop good working relationships with people.
  • Organised and able to prioritise.
Desirable Skills
  • To undertake learning and development in order to perform other duties of same grade.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Background in Facilities Management.
Vetting

Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.

Medical
