Job summary

A global manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Facilities Engineer (Electrical Bias) to maintain site infrastructure and manufacturing equipment. The role involves planned maintenance, electrical fault-finding, and improvements to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Candidates should have a recognized engineering apprenticeship and at least 2 years' experience in a facilities or maintenance role. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a facilities or maintenance role.
  • 18th Edition, IPAF and Testing and Inspection preferred.

  • Carry out routine scheduled maintenance work.
  • Repair electrical systems to ensure Health and Safety compliance.
  • Manage subcontractors on site to ensure safety.

Job description
We're looking for a skilled Facilities Engineer (Electrical Bias) to play a key part in keeping our site running safely, reliably, and to the high standards weve built our reputation on.

Youll be a central part in maintaining our site infrastructure and manufacturing equipment, combining planned maintenance, electrical fault-finding, and practical improvement work.

Alternate Shifts: AM shift Monday Thursday 6:00am-2:00pm Friday 6:00am-11:00am; PM shift Monday Thursday 2:00pm-10:00pm Friday 11:00am-4:00pm; Holiday: 25 days per year 9 statutory bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults.
  • Repair electrical systems to ensure they are consistent with Health and Safety standards.
  • Some mechanical experience preferred but not essential.
  • Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly.
  • Carrying out quality inspections on jobs.
  • Liaising with client departments, customers alongside other engineering and production associates.
  • Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.
  • Managing sub-contractors on site, ensuring safe working systems.
  • Maintain fixed wiring testing defect rectification.
  • Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
  • Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.
  • Coordinating projects including equipment replacement, machine moves and installations and small‑scale construction projects (on‑site training and coaching provided).
Essential Experience and Qualifications
  • Recognised time‑served engineering apprenticeship, together with at least 2 years’ experience in a facilities or maintenance role.
  • Newly qualified apprentices and Ex‑Forces applicants will be considered.
  • Minimum ONC or City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent (Technical Certificate, etc.).
  • 18th Edition, IPAF and Testing and Inspection preferred but not essential.

  • Good diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of maintenance policies, procedures, and terms with an emphasis on Health and Safety requirements.
  • Strong project management with an emphasis to improve reliability.
  • Ability to undertake a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
  • Knowledge of appropriate office software applications.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • An understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
