Job summary

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Facilities Assistant to join the Domestic/Cleaning and Portering team. You will perform cleaning duties in outpatients areas, ensuring high hygiene standards and compliance with relevant policies, with training provided.

Shift is Mon-Fri 13:00-17:00. The role offers a supportive work environment across Sussex facilities, with opportunities to develop skills in healthcare cleaning and infection control while working as part of a committed NHS

Qualifications

• NVQ Cleaning or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Basic Health & Safety certificate desirable.
• Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare setting is beneficial.

Facilities Assistant - DOMESTIC/CLEANING AND PORTERING

SHIFT Mon-Fri 1300-1700

We are looking for a motivated and hard-working individual to work as part of the Facilities team, performing cleaning duties as required within our outpatients areas, to the required standard and in compliance with legislation.

Previous cleaning experience would be an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided. Please give FULL details of any relevant experience on your application form to assist us with the shortlisting process. Any fields left blank or incomplete will not be able to be scored.

Main duties of the job

• To ensure strict adherence to all policies and procedures in relation to food hygiene, including HACCP, personal hygiene and cleaning down procedures. Clean all surfaces using appropriate methods to remove dust and debris. Remove / replace / clean curtains and blinds as necessary.
• Clean all hard floors and mop daily. Empty, clean and replenish waste bins. Seal waste bags and carry out appropriate waste disposal procedures. Clean internal glass and ledges. Clean all sanitary areas. Maintain equipment in a clean and serviceable condition. Maintain and respect the privacy and dignity of patients whilst carrying out Facilities duties. Clean Beds. Replenish bed linen on patient discharge or as needed.Clean furniture.Replenish consumables - paper towels, soap, toilet rolls etc. Adopt a flexible approach, as you may be required to work at any Trust site.
• Ensure the correct storage of all items.
• To issue and collate inpatient menus.
