Job summary

ITI Group in Sheffield is seeking a proactive Facilities Assistant to join our team. You will maintain offices, workshop facilities, systems and grounds, ensuring they remain safe, efficient and well-presented for colleagues and visitors alike.

Reporting to the Facilities and Logistics Manager, this hands-on role involves inspections, routine repairs, supervising contractors, and supporting facility projects. You’ll document maintenance activities and follow health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Basic proficiency with manual handling equipment.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to read and understand written English to maintain records.
  • Basic IT and numeracy skills.
  • Willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections, maintenance and testing of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and fire safety equipment.
  • Perform general repairs such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks.
  • Diagnose and resolve building issues, including HVAC malfunctions, plumbing leaks, and electrical faults.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, minimising downtime.
  • Ensure good housekeeping throughout facilities, keeping common areas and exterior grounds in good repair.
  • Assist in setting up and rearranging office spaces, furniture and equipment.
  • Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions to mitigate hazards.
  • Onboard and supervise contractors, ensuring RAMs are in place as required.

We're looking for a Facilities Assistant to join our team in Sheffield.

Reporting to the Facilities and Logistics Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining our offices, workshop facilities, systems, and grounds, ensuring they remain safe, efficient, and well-presented for colleagues and visitors alike.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. We're looking for someone with a proactive, can-do attitude who enjoys taking the initiative, solving problems, and getting stuck in. Whether you're carrying out planned maintenance, responding to day-to-day issues, or identifying opportunities to improve our facilities, you'll have the chance to make a real impact.

Salary: Up to £30,000, depending upon skills and experience.

You will:

  • Ensure good housekeeping is maintained throughout all facilities, keeping them safe and in good repair, maintaining common areas, and exterior grounds.
  • Assist in setting up and rearranging office spaces, furniture, and equipment as needed.
  • Conduct safety inspections and perform corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Be responsible for the onboarding and general supervision of contractors, ensuring RAMs are in place as required.
  • Perform preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment and systems are functioning efficiently.
  • Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all equipment and tools are in good working condition and are stored properly.
  • Assist with facility projects, renovations, and installations.
  • Report recurring issues and suggest improvements to enhance facility operations.
  • Occasionally travel to other ITI Group sites as required to support facilities and maintenance activities.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and protocols.
  • Successfully complete all identified training both in-house, and external.
  • Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post, including logistics support as required.
We are looking for:
Experience and Knowledge
