Facilities and Housekeeping Assistant

Benmore Outdoor Centre

Salary: £13.48 per hour

Hours: 0 per week - casual contract

This position is with The City of Edinburgh Council, please note the post is based outside of Edinburgh at BENMORE OUTDOOR CENTRE, ARGYLL, PA23 8QX. The post holder will benefit from local authority terms and conditions of employment.

You will play a vital part in the young people's experience at Benmore Outdoor Centre.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Facilities & Housekeeping Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and organised environment within residential settings. This position requires attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality cleaning services. Experience in commercial cleaning is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Role will suit a positive and enthusiastic individual who takes pride in performing their duties to a high standard and contributing to quality service delivery. We are seeking a team player who engages well with others, is flexible and adaptable to service needs. Our Facilities & Housekeeping Assistant team provides a range of cleaning duties to ensure a safe, clean and well-presented environment for the groups and guests visiting the residential outdoor centre and associated self-catering properties.

  • Deep cleaning tasks across an expansive site
  • Organisation and efficient safe working within company policies, seeking advice and guidance when necessary

Working hours

Primarily Monday to Friday, working pattern will include early starts from 7.30am, latest finish time 7.30pm. Exact start & finish times are shift pattern dependant.

Due to the rural location, personal transport is essential year-round.

Background checks

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
