Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Wigan is seeking a dedicated tutor to support vulnerable, disengaged and at-risk young people. You will deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in KS3 or KS4 and boost engagement and attainment.

The role is a temporary, part-time contract with flexible hours; start ASAP and based in the pupil's home or community setting in Wigan. Experience with SEND and a patient, creative approach are highly valued.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience.
• UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential.
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box.
• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in KS3 or KS4 education.

Experience, Training and Qualifications of the English, Maths and Science Tutor:

• QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience
• Possess UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils

To be eligible for this role, the potential Tutor must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references.
