Your new role and team

As our new Head of Department –Facades you will play a pivotal role in developing and growing our team. The team boasts an extensive portfolio of projects both ongoing and in the pipeline with a global reach and across diverse sectors. The continuous expansion of our project portfolio reflects our commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of Facades.

With an already established team we find ourselves in the next phase of expansion and development presenting a unique opportunity for you to further develop the Facades team into a market leading entity to contribute to our success as an integral part of our expanding department.

As our new Head of Department – Facades you will need to develop and maintain excellent client relationships while having great leadership skills with first rate communication to keep driving excellence from the team.

This is a key senior role within our nearly 70 strong Advisory & Consultancy group and wider 550 strong UK Buildings team. The role reports into the Service Line Director Advisory & Consultancy.

Your key responsibilities will be :
  • Instil purpose and set the direction for and grow the Facades team leading by example.
  • Develop and implement the strategic plan for the Facades team that aligns with the broader national strategies and services offered by Ramboll.
  • Create a culture of openness and inclusion and ultimately be responsible for the pastoral care performance reward development and training of the people within the team.
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the team and extending that collaboration to other parts of the business unit and the company as a whole.
  • Building and maintaining a positive professional image being recognized as a knowledgeable and trustworthy contact for clients.
  • Taking the lead in preparing competitive bids and proposals to secure projects or contracts.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and client demands to shape new opportunities for growth.
  • Maintain and grow a strong client base building trusted long-term relationships.
  • Act as a work winner securing new projects through strong client engagement compelling proposals and market reputation.
  • Drive R&D in façade engineering exploring material science performance optimisation and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with research institutions universities and technology partners to remain at the forefront of façade innovation.
  • Lead and inspire adoption of AI generative design computational modelling and advanced tools development.
  • Develop new service within the team based on market research and needs.

  • Proven experience and demonstrated success in work winning client care and generating repeat business.
  • Extensive experience in a considerable client-facing role bringing a new set of client contacts to the position.
  • Robust network of existing client relations.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to inspire influence and negotiate.
  • Proven experience as a team leader with a track record of managing resource requirements facilitating career development and fostering effective team collaboration.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects particularly with large-scale multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Proficient technical knowledge of façades.
  • Recognised industry profile and active involvement in professional networks.
  • Excellent leadership client engagement and stakeholder management skills.
