Qualifications

Orbital Recruitment are currently recruitng for permanent Fabricators for our client whoi are based in Newcaastle upon Tyne

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate from engineering drawings and job packs.
  • Carry out MIG and TIG welding to a high standard across mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium (where applicable).
  • Operate fabrication equipment including saws, drills, grinders, and presses.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain quality control standards throughout the fabrication and welding process.
  • Work collaboratively with production, design, and installation teams.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a fabricator/welder in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding (TIG and MMA experience advantageous).
  • Skilled in general fabrication processes - cutting, folding, drilling, and assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Understanding of workshop health and safety practices.
  • Forklift or crane operation experience is beneficial (training provided if required)
