Job summary

A family-run fabrication company in Sunderland is seeking an experienced Fabricator to join their team. The role involves working from drawings to fabricate and assemble steelwork using primarily MIG welding. Ideal candidates will have strong skills in structural fabrication and a good attention to detail. Offering £16.00 hourly rates with ongoing work and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in structural or general fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
  • Strong MIG welding skills, TIG is a bonus.

Overview

We're working on behalf of a well-established, family run and growing fabrication company who are looking to expand their team with an experienced Fabricator. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure long-term work with a business known for producing high-quality bespoke fabrications for a variety of sectors.

The Role

You'll be based in a busy fabrication workshop, working on a range of products including:

  • Plant rooms and skid bases for commercial and industrial use
  • Stillages, frames and racking systems for the automotive/Oil&Gas industry
  • Custom storage solutions and general fabrication work

Your day-to-day will involve working from drawings to fabricate and assemble steelwork, welding (mainly MIG), and using standard fabrication equipment to produce finished components.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in structural or general fabrication
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret fabrication drawings
  • Strong MIG welding skills (TIG is a bonus but not essential)
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with workshop tools such as saws, drills, grinders, etc.
  • Overhead crane or forklift experience would be advantageous
