Overview

Fabrication Operative – Bradford, BD4. Location: Bradford. Hours: Monday to Thursday – 37.5 hours per week. Pay: £12.60 per hour. Contract: Temporary to Christmas, but may be extended depending on workload.

Role

Fabrication Operative – supporting post-weld finishing and packaging operations. The role involves fettling and cleaning welded components to meet quality standards, followed by safe palletising for dispatch or internal movement. This is a semi-skilled role and training will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and smooth weld seams to ensure compliance with visual and dimensional standards using hand tools, grinders, and other equipment
  • Inspect finished parts for burrs, sharp edges, and surface defects
  • Operate safely, adhering to health & safety protocols
  • Palletise cleaned components securely for transport or storage
  • Report any defects, hazards, or equipment issues to the supervisor
Requirements
  • Previous experience in fabrication, fettling, or metal finishing
  • Confident using grinders, sanders, and hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
