Job summary

Falcon Tower Crane Services in Miles Platting, Manchester, is seeking a Fabrication Manager/Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) to lead fabrication and welding operations. You will oversee structural steel fabrication, ensure welding activities meet quality standards, and act as RWC in line with BS EN ISO requirements.

The role requires at least 5 years in fabrication/welding, RWC qualification, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Technical knowledge in welding and related technologies.
• RWC training or qualification relevant to fabrication (BS EN ISO 14731, BS EN 1090, ISO 3834).
• NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding with experience operating fabrication machinery.
• Knowledge of welding procedure qualification BS EN 9606 and steel grades.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee day-to-day fabrication and welding activities to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
• Review drawings and specifications before work begins and resolve technical queries.
• Act as the Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) ensuring compliance with standards and procedures.
• Maintain welder qualifications, records and welding documentation.
• Coordinate inspection and testing activities, including non-destructive testing where required.
• Lead and develop fabrication personnel and monitor performance and safety.
