Position

Fabrication Manager – Day shift position within a growing engineering business with a strong order book. Hands on management position suited to someone from a fabrication background. Salary £50,000 to £55,000 per annum. The business operates within the sheet metal / heavy engineering sector, so prior knowledge of manufacturing processes in this industry would be ideal. This role is commutable from Leicester.

Responsibilities

• Managing the production processes ensuring products are delivered to specification and standards in a timely manner.
• People management of the team, supporting development / training where required.
• Introducing new processes to help improve efficiency and drive lean manufacturing principles.
• Planning inventory stock and reducing excess materials where possible.

Qualifications & experience

• Experience working within the sheet metal fabrication sector.
• Proven management / supervisory experience, with a track record of improving processes.
• Organised and a natural problem solver. Someone who wants to own the department and continually improve all aspects.
• Comfortable handling tasks related to wider production areas, such as inventory management and lean manufacturing principles.
