Fabric Maintenance Engineer - Days only - Knightsbridge, London - £42,000 per annum

My client is seeking a Fabric Maintenance Engineer to join a busy commercial building in Knightsbridge, London. This is a client-facing role, so the ideal candidate will not only be technically skilled but also presentable with strong communication skills. You'll be joining an established maintenance team that has recently taken on a new member, so we're looking for someone confident who can hit the ground running.

• Monday to Friday - 08:00am - 17:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Emergency lighting tests & Fire alarm tests
• Painting & Decorating
• Basic lighting
• Basic Carpentry and plumbing
• Fixing Furniture
• Hanging Pictures & Shelves
• Maintain and update Log books
• Assist the maintenance team on site
• Escort sub-contractors
• To undertake basic “Fabric duties” which would include touching up paintwork, tightening hinges, install/repair blinds, changing locks , making minor repairs to cabinets, desks, and putting together small equipment like chairs etc.

Requirements

• City & Guilds level 2 Carpentry, painting and decorating.
• Knowledge of commercial building maintenance.
• An understanding of most building fabric duties (Plumbing, Painting, Carpentry, Basic Electrical, etc)
• A desire to get into maintenance.
• Good communication skills.
• Health & Safety experience.
• Basic PC literacy, (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, smartphone use)
• Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
• Self-motivation with the ability to manage tight time constraints and prioritise workload.
