Job Title: Fabric Engineer
Location: Musselburgh, Edinburgh
Contract Type: Permanent (Static Site Role)
Hours: Full-Time

Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fabric Engineer to work on a static site based in Musselburgh, Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a variety of planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring the site is maintained to a high standard and that all work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake general fabric maintenance and repairs, including joinery, painting, plastering, tiling, and basic plumbing tasks.
  • Deliver both planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive works in line with service level requirements.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Identify and report defects or potential issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of all works carried out.
  • Provide a professional, customer‑focused service at all times.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar fabric maintenance or building services role.
  • Multi‑skilled across a range of trades such as joinery, painting, or general building maintenance.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety practices.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
  • CSCS card or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ).
  • Basic plumbing or electrical knowledge.

Salary is negotiable and will be dependent on experience.
