• Comfortable working independently on a mobile basis.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must pass a Disclosure Scotland check.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fabric maintenance, repairs, and general building works.
• Complete reactive repairs and PPM tasks across multiple sites.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company standards.
• Liaise with site staff and clients, providing excellent communication and service.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work using handheld devices or paperwork.

The Role

FM Search & Select are working with a leading Facilities Management company looking for an experienced and proactive Fabric Engineer to join their team covering Midlothian and the surrounding areas.

This is a mobile position carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of commercial and public sector sites. The role is ideal for someone with strong all-round building fabric and maintenance skills who takes pride in delivering a high standard of work and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out fabric maintenance, repairs, and general building works (e.g. joinery, basic plumbing).
• Complete reactive repairs and PPM tasks across multiple sites.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company standards.
• Liaise with site staff and clients, providing excellent communication and service.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work using handheld devices or paperwork.
