Job summary

A leading recruitment consultancy is seeking a Fabric Engineer to ensure the efficient upkeep and maintenance of building fabric in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Responsibilities include performing maintenance tasks, plumbing, carpentry, and general handyman duties. The ideal candidate has experience in building maintenance and a proactive approach to work.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in fabric/building maintenance.
  • Competency in basic plumbing, carpentry, and handyman skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of the building fabric as required.
  • Perform escorting duties for sub-contractors on-site when necessary.
  • Complete basic plumbing tasks, ensuring functional and safe water systems.
  • Conduct general handyman duties, addressing day-to-day maintenance needs.
  • Undertake minor carpentry and joinery work to maintain structural integrity and appearance.
  • Carry out painting and decorating tasks to preserve aesthetic standards.

Fabric Engineer

Job Purpose

To ensure the efficient upkeep and maintenance of the building fabric through proactive and reactive maintenance tasks, supporting a safe and functional working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of the building fabric as required.
  • Perform escorting duties for sub-contractors on-site when necessary.
  • Complete basic plumbing tasks, ensuring functional and safe water systems.
