Job summary

Luxury Fashion brand in London is seeking a Fabric Assistant on a contract basis. You will inspect fabrics, perform quality checks, and ensure records and locations are accurate. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to procedures.

Ideal candidates have textile experience, can follow instructions, and work well in a team to meet daily targets. 37.5 hours weekly, on-site in London, with PAYE daily pay.

Qualifications

• Experience working with textiles or fabrics and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to uphold high quality standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.
• Excel and Word skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fabrics (off-loom and finished) for quality and faults.
• Perform mandatory quality and shade checks.
• Record fabric faults accurately and update locations.
• Mark defects with tailor's chalk and allocate storage.
• Support on-loom inspection and fabric mending tasks.
• Ensure high presentation standards before delivery.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe working practices.
• Collaborate with managers to hit daily targets.

Fabric Assistant

We're currently recruiting for a Fabric Assistant to join Luxury Fashion brand on a contract basis in London.

Location: London - fully site-based

Pay: £115.38-£170 per day PAYE

Start Date: 2 September 2026

Contract: Until 18 December 2026

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the role:

You'll be part of a dedicated team responsible for inspecting Client's fabrics and ensuring they meet the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:

• Inspecting off-loom and finished fabrics for quality and faults
• Carrying out mandatory quality and shade checks
• Identifying and accurately recording fabric faults
• Using tailor's chalk to mark defects
• Allocating fabric to the correct storage areas
• Updating fabric locations and information on relevant systems
• Supporting on-loom inspection and fabric mending
• Ensuring fabric is presented to a high standard before delivery
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping and safe working practices
• Working closely with managers and colleagues to achieve daily targets

About you:

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous textile/fabric or manufacturing experience
• Experience working to high-quality standards
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• The ability to follow instructions and established procedures
• Good problem-solving skills
• Basic Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or equivalent)
• Excel and Microsoft Word skills would be advantageous
