Job summary

Pontoon is seeking an F5 SME to assist in the study and design of F5 technologies within a banking-focused delivery team. The role emphasizes analysis rather than hands-on configuration, requiring rapid domain assimilation and independent work with collaboration as needed.

Hybrid role based in the UK (Manchester, Leeds or Edinburgh) with ~2 days onsite per week. The assignment is 6 months with potential extension, paying £650 per day. Background checks apply in the hiring process.

Qualifications

• Design, configure, test and maintain F5 devices.
• Expertise in F5 Big-IP LTM/GTM/DNS/APM/AWAF to enhance network infrastructure.
• Build and deploy technologies for private and public cloud environments.
• Contribute to enterprise applications supporting banking operations.
• Proven track record as an Infrastructure Engineer.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Jira/CI/CD tooling.

In short: We're seeking an F5 SME to assist in the Study and Design of F5's.

This isn't a hands-on config requirement; it's more of an analysis role.

About this opportunity

The core role sits within the F5 Delivery team which is part of the Network Security and Traffic Management Lab within the Core Infrastructure Platform.

The role incorporates Study capability that will be the core of your development and deliveries. You should be able to rapidly assimilate domain knowledge and apply this in a sophisticated technical environment. You can confidently work alone but can collaborate productively.
Role Requirements and Skills & Experience:

• Collaborate with our team to design, configure, test, and maintain F5 Devices.
• Utilise your expertise in F5 Big-IP (LTM, GTM/DNS, APM, AWAF), Jenkins, GitHub, or similar technologies to enhance our network infrastructure.
• Build and deploy technologies for both private and public cloud environments, ensuring seamless integrations.
• Contribute to the development of Enterprise applications that will support our banking operations.
