Agency: Tradewind Education

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, long-term (with potential to become permanent)

Pay: 90- 110 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role

Tradewind Education is seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive mainstream primary school located in the heart of Islington. This role is ideal for someone passionate about Early Years education and skilled in supporting children with Special Educational Needs.

You will work closely with the EYFS team to support children aged 3-5, focusing particularly on pupils with additional needs, such as:

  • Speech, language & communication delays
  • ASD
  • ADHD
  • Social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Developmental delays
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support within Nursery or Reception.
  • Follow tailored support plans and work collaboratively with class teachers and SENCO.
  • Assist with observations, assessments, and progress tracking within EYFS frameworks.
  • Use SEN strategies such as visual timetables, PECs, sensory play, and language-rich activities.
  • Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with children, staff, and parents.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with EYFS children in a school or nursery setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN, particularly autism and speech & language needs.
  • Warm, patient, and reliable with excellent communication skills.
  • Confident supporting learning through play and structured activities.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a supportive team.
