JOB TITLE: External Contracts Manager

LOCATION: Eastleigh, Hampshire

SALARY: £42,000/Annum

DURATION: Perm – 37 Hours per week

The Employer: We are looking to fill the role of an External Contracts Manager within a housing environment; our client is ambitious and has a huge 5‑year plan. We need this key member of the team to assist with creating a sustainable future for social housing, building new homes, and investing in existing ones to create vibrant, thriving communities.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the Roofing Programme, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality replacement roof coverings.
  • Manage and oversee a variety of externally sourced contracts, including windows, doors, external works, and specialist projects.
  • Monitor performance, budgets, and contractual obligations to ensure compliance with agreed standards.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with partner providers to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Challenge and influence contractors where necessary to drive improvements and ensure value for money.
  • Provide technical expertise on complex maintenance and refurbishment projects.
  • Regularly visit sites, attend contractor meetings, and collaborate with colleagues in the office to support operational excellence.
  • Uphold company values by ensuring customer service remains at the heart of all projects.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience in managing external contracts within a housing association or property services environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of roofing and external maintenance works.
  • Confidence to challenge contractors constructively, with the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and driving service improvements.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Flexibility to travel across companies’ geography and attend key office locations as required. (Yeovil/Bracknell & Eastleigh)
  • A commitment to delivering high standards, ensuring financial, contractual, and quality expectations are consistently met.
Required
  • A basic DBS check will be required.
  • A full driving licence.
Summary

This is a Perm position, working a 37‑hour week over 5 days.

The role requires a satisfactory Basic DBS check.
