Job summary

PwC UK in London or Edinburgh is seeking a Manager for Banking and Capital Markets Audit to lead multi-location teams and deliver high quality audits from planning to completion. You will engage with a broad range of flagship financial services clients and coach professionals in a collaborative environment.

Qualified CA/ACCA/ICAS (or international equivalent) with strong IFRS/UK GAAP knowledge is essential, as is a track record managing large audits and communicating complex matters clearly to

Qualifications

  • Must possess Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA / ICAS qualification (or international equivalent) or equivalent work experience.
  • High level of IFRS and/or UK GAAP experience and be highly skilled in using auditing standards.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of managing larger or more complex audits from planning to completion.
  • Ability to communicate complex or contentious audit matters clearly in verbal and written form to colleagues and senior client stakeholders.
  • Ability to offer considered points of view in client conversations around broader industry topics and provide knowledgeable challenge to senior clients.

Responsibilities

  • Leading multi-location teams, using your team and relationship management skills to ensure the delivery of high quality audit work - from planning to completion of an Audit, including the review of financial statements, ensuring that it meets PwC and regulatory standards.
  • Building meaningful relationships and demonstrating curiosity that will allow you to have insightful conversations and provide visible challenge during the Audit.
  • Leading on the completion of areas of complex or judgemental audit work which includes the identification of issues, analysis of data, articulation of findings and the ability to draw informed conclusions.
  • Managing the financial and resource aspects of Audit engagements, demonstrating a commercial approach throughout
  • Supporting your team's technical and personal development and identifying where they may require further support; and putting your team first by coaching with purpose, being present with the team and openly communicating expectations.

What your days will look like:

This role is for you if:
  • Must possess a Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA / ICAS qualification (or an international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates who qualify through experience in their home country;
  • A high level of experience of IFRS and/or UK GAAP and be highly skilled in using international standards on auditing;
  • Highly developed project management skills and a strong track record of managing larger or more complex audits to the highest standard from planning to completion;
  • Has the ability to communicate complex or contentious audit matters clearly and concisely in both verbal and written form to colleagues and senior client stakeholders;
  • Has the ability to offer considered points of view in client conversations around broader industry topics and provide knowledgeable challenge to senior clients in the context of an audit; and
  • Takes pride in their work and in the Audit profession. Shows resilience and demonstrates dedication to self development including being agile and innovative in the digital world.
