ExamWorks UK is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join its expert-witness team on an ad-hoc, zero-hours basis. You will carry out evaluations and assessments for medico-legal cases, with no direct treatment delivery.
You must be HCPC registered (Clinical or Forensic) with 12 months patient-facing experience. The role involves reporting, prognosis, and recommendations for insurers, courts, and solicitors, across England and Wales. Clinics are near you, with reimbursement for travel.
Ad-hoc hours contract only.
Hourly rate £75-£100
As a Clinical Psychologist, you don’t need any experience in the Medico legal field as this will be trained as you complete the assessments.
However, you do need to have worked as a Clinical Psychologist with patients in varying degrees of mental health, for 12 months. You must be registered on the HCPC for the same amount of time under “Clinical OR Forensic Psychologist”.
The position is evaluation and assessment only, so you should have excellent assessment and administration skills, with a strong understanding of psychological assessment tools.
You should have knowledge and hands on experience in 121 therapies, CBT EMDR or similar cognitive treatments, with children OR adult or both.
You will be asked to carry out evaluations on both as a requirement of the role, whilst you will not implement treatment, you will recommend diagnostic and prognosis, with the best and most suitable course of therapy.
The cases are a mixture of Medco legal/personal injury cases and Crime related OR immigration cases.
You will be working on behalf of Insurers, Courts and Solicitors in assessing individuals on their mental health and capacity to stand trial, face deportation or to make a personal injury case.
You will assess, express clinical overview of prognosis, diagnosis and referral for treatment. As above, this is an evaluation and assessment only role, you will not be offering any form of treatment directly, however must be skilled in the knowledge of treatments provided to those with conditions such as PTSD, Sleep deprivation, Anxiety, Flashbacks and depression.
Reports are written up by legal secretaries, most cases are low value, and you will only validate the report from the backdated accident, therefore this involves very little admin.
Patient Health records are available for your preparation, as well as the generalised anxiety disorder form, you will only need to backdate medical records to the recorded incident or offence.
