The University of Southampton invites applications for a Recognised Researcher in Engineering. You will conduct experiments measuring turbulent flows under realistic conditions and develop new diagnostic techniques to access novel aspects of the flow.

You will analyse data, develop data-driven models for predictions, and publish your findings in journals and at conferences. A PhD in Aerodynamics or Fluid Mechanics and strong experimental skills are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in Aerodynamics or Fluid Mechanics.
• Experimental experience is essential.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.

Responsabilités

• Carry our measurements of turbulent flows under realistic conditions (effects of roughness, pressure gradient, surface textures etc).
• Develop relevant new diagnostic techniques to access new aspects of the flow.
• Analyse data and develop new data-driven models that can be used for predictions.
• Publish and present findings in relevant journals/conferences.
