Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (with SEMH experience)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive, based on experience and responsibilities

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

The Role

• Deliver individualised 1:1 and small-group support for students with additional needs, including SEMH.
• Assist in the delivery of engaging, differentiated lessons alongside the class teacher.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being through encouragement and consistent support strategies.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and families to ensure continuity in support and progress tracking.
• Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and resilience in their learning.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs (in school, care, or youth settings).
• Bring a calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting behaviour and learning.
• Be an excellent communicator and team player, able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Have a sound understanding of SEN and SEMH support strategies, adapting to individual needs as required.
• Hold relevant qualifications in education, support, or care (desirable but not essential).
