A local government authority in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Social Worker for the First Response Team. This permanent full-time role involves undertaking Care Act assessments and collaborating with various stakeholders to promote individual wellbeing. The position offers hybrid working and a comprehensive benefits package including 26 days holiday. Candidates must be registered with Social Work England and possess a relevant social work degree.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced social worker to join the First Response Team. First Response Team follow a prevent, reduce delay model and ensure a seamless journey through to adult social care. We connect individuals through to the right service at the right time to promote and enhance an individual’s wellbeing.
First Response Team is the second point of contact for all new referrals coming into Adult Social Care, the reporting of Safeguarding Adult Concerns and the Local Authority’s duty for the provision of the AMHP service to coordinate assessments under the Mental Health Act (1983 as amended 2007). You will be reporting to the senior practitioner, team manager and service manager.
As an experienced social worker within First Response Team, you will possess in-depth knowledge and practical skills required for the role.
Key responsibilities will be to undertake personalised Care Act assessments, Mental Capacity assessments, Best Interest decisions, safeguarding screenings and S42 enquiries, Continuing Health Care processes and carers assessments. Working within the key legislation including Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act. Apply a strengths-based approach to practice ensuring people’s needs, rights and aspirations remain central to your work. You will also work in collaboration with individuals, families, carers and partner agencies to achieve holistic outcomes.
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient experienced social worker, with experience of working with adults with a range of complex needs. A strong knowledge of Safeguarding and assessing risk is required. There is the opportunity to support/mentor ASYE and new staff. The position is permanent full time post 37 hours, working days to be discussed at interview.
