We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and proactive Support Worker to provide 1:1 care for a 24-year-old man with Autism, ADHD, and complex needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent, person-centred support at home and in the community
  • Escort to and from school via taxi
  • Support the development and maintenance of independent living skills
  • Assist with managing clinical anxiety and sensory processing needs
  • Accompany to weekly swimming sessions (must be a confident swimmer)
  • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities
  • Complete daily activity records and support planning
About the Individual
  • Has a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD
  • Experiences audio sensory delay (3–4 seconds to process spoken language)
  • Is learning to self-manage clinical anxiety
  • Requires physiotherapy and benefits from weekly swimming
  • Lives with Trichotillomania and mild scoliosis
  • Has a strong dislike of injections and blood tests
Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting adults with Autism and ADHD
  • PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) trained or willing to undertake training
  • Confident swimmer – able to provide support in the water
  • Skilled in supporting individuals with sensory processing difficulties
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a wider care team
  • Patient, respectful, and emotionally attuned to individual needs
