Your Role

The prime role of a secretary is to provide secretarial support to the family team lawyers. To exercise high standards of client care at all times in a professional and pleasant manner. To ensure the confidentiality and security of all the firm’s and client documentation and information. To maintain clear and precise communication with other personnel within the firm. To ensure good working relationships with external institutions and organisations.

Your Responsibilities
  • Typing for all fee earners in the team in a busy and fast-paced environment.
  • Dealing with mediation enquiries and opening mediation files.
  • Setting up new appointments.
  • Answering telephone, speaking to clients and solicitors.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Joining in team meetings and making suggestions for more efficient administration.
  • Assisting with new precedents.
  • Liaising with other members of the administration team.
  • High degree of autonomy and self-organisation.
  • Initiative is required.
Person Specification – Key Skills/qualifications Required
  • Previous experience of working within a Family Law department at a firm of solicitors is essential.
