About the Role

We are seeking an Experienced Caterpillar Diesel Engine Mechanic who specializes in big bore diesel engines, including Caterpillar 3500 through C175 series. The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated professional with deep technical expertise, hands‑on experience, and a commitment to excellence in every rebuild and repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics, disassembly, inspection, and full rebuilds on Caterpillar 3500–C175 series diesel engines.
  • Use Caterpillar SIS (Service Information System) software with a high level of proficiency to identify parts, service procedures, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic systems to pinpoint and resolve engine issues efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety policies.
  • Follow company guidelines and direction while maintaining accountability and pride in workmanship.
  • Document all repair and service work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure top‑quality results and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience working with Caterpillar big bore diesel engines (3500–C175 series).
  • Proven experience in complete tear‑down and rebuild processes, including precision measurements and assembly.
  • Strong proficiency in Caterpillar SIS and other diagnostic software/tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to delivering high‑quality workmanship.
  • Must be dependable, self‑driven, and able to work under minimal supervision.
Qualifications
  • Experience with marine, power, or mining applications using large Caterpillar engines.
  • Caterpillar factory training or certification is a strong asset.
  • Field Service experience is a huge plus.
