Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Uttoxeter is seeking an experienced Bodyshop Prepper to join a modern accident repair centre. You will prepare vehicles for paint, ensuring the highest standards and efficient workshop flow, with a Monday–Friday 8am-5pm schedule.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £32,000 DOE, overtime, and a clear route for career progression within a supportive team of technicians. Previous prepper experience in automotive bodyshops is essential.

Qualifications

Experience as Prepper in an automotive bodyshop or accident repair centre.
Strong knowledge of vehicle preparation techniques (sanding, masking, filling, priming).
Experience preparing vehicles for paint at a high standard.

Responsibilities

Prepare accident-damaged vehicles for paint, including sanding, filling, masking and priming.
Carry out panel preparation to manufacturer and bodyshop standards.
Inspect repaired panels and surfaces to ensure readiness for refinishing.
Remove minor imperfections and complete final preparation before paint application.
Work with Paint Sprayers, Panel Technicians and MET Technicians to ensure efficient progression.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Follow manufacturer repair methods and Health & Safety regulations.
Complete all preparation work within production times while ensuring quality.
