Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in the United States is seeking an Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care for minimally invasive procedures in the Interventional Radiology department. Qualifications

• RN license – NH or other Compact State.
• ACLS and BLS required upon hire.
• Required: 2 years experience in IR, ICU, PCU, or ED.
• Recent IR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Patient Care ‑ Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after interventional procedures.
• Procedural Support ‑ Prepare patients for diagnostic and interventional procedures; assist physicians and technologists; administer and monitor moderate sedation.
• Recovery and Follow‑up Care ‑ Provide post‑procedure monitoring and recovery care; coordinate discharge planning and patient education.
• Documentation and Compliance ‑ Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, sedation records, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record.
• Collaboration ‑ Collaborate with interventional radiologists, advanced practice providers, technologists, anesthesia staff, and referring providers.
• Preparedness ‑ Ensure supplies, equipment and resources are available for interventional procedures; assist with scheduling and pre‑procedure requirements.
• Performs administrative duties as needed; maintains confidentiality.
• Works with Interventional Radiologist to ensure quality guidelines; communicates feedback to staff.
• Maintain all patient information privately and confidentially.
• Perform all other duties as required.

The Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Interventional Radiology department. The IR RN is responsible for patient assessment, procedural preparation, moderate sedation administration and monitoring, peri procedural care, patient education, and post procedure recovery management while ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulatory standards.

Job Description

$5,000 Sign on bonus available for eligible hires!!** Bonus amounts for positions under 40 hours per week will be prorated. Per diem roles are not eligible.

1. Clinical Patient Care ‑ Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after interventional procedures. Review medical history, laboratory results, allergies, medications, and procedural consents. Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans. Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes in clinical status.
2. Procedural Support ‑ Prepare patients for diagnostic and interventional procedures. Assist physicians and technologists during procedures while maintaining sterile technique. Administer and monitor moderate sedation according to hospital policy and state regulations. Monitor cardiac rhythm, oxygen saturation, blood pressure and other vital signs throughout procedures.
3. Recovery and Follow‑up Care ‑ Provide post‑procedure monitoring and recovery care. Assess patients for complications such as bleeding, infection, allergic reactions, and sedation‑related events. Coordinate discharge planning and patient education. Communicate post‑procedure instructions to patients and families.
4. Documentation and Compliance ‑ Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, sedation records, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission/DNV, state, federal, and organizational standards. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
5. Collaboration ‑ Collaborate with interventional radiologists, advanced practice providers, technologists, anesthesia staff, and referring providers. Participate in multidisciplinary patient care planning. Serve as a resource to colleagues regarding interventional radiology nursing practices.
6. Preparedness ‑ Ensures that all supplies, equipment and appropriate resources are available for interventional procedures. Assists with the scheduling and pre‑procedure requirements for patients scheduled for invasive procedures.
7. Performs administrative duties as needed, i.e. assists in answering the telephone, filing, chart maintenance, scheduling, etc.
8. Works with the Interventional Radiologist (MD) to ensure that the team works to acceptable quality guidelines. Communicates to staff feedback quality care.
9. Maintain all patient information privately and confidentially.
10. Perform all other duties as required or assigned.

Pay Range

$35.00 USD - $63.15 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
