Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time (37.5 hours a week) exercise instructor to join our therapies team at St. Ann's Hospital, our busy mental health inpatient unit.

Responsibilities
  • Provide fitness instruction and ensure safe practice in the gym and working environment.
  • Induct staff to supervise patients and manage the gym environment.
  • Respond to referrals for service users, induct users to the gym, and provide fitness programmes.
  • Monitor progress of service users and support physical and mental health.
  • Collaborate with physiotherapy, occupational therapy and ward teams to deliver an inclusive and responsive exercise service.
Qualifications
  • Successfully completed Level 3 Personal Trainer and Level 3 Exercise Referral training.
  • Successfully complete a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course before commencing.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required; the Trust covers the cost.
  • Ability to induct staff to the gym and supervise patients with fitness programmes devised by the instructor.
