A public sector organization in the UK is seeking an Executive Officer to provide key support to the Senior Leadership Team. This role involves managing diaries, coordinating meetings, and ensuring smooth operations within a dynamic environment. Ideal candidates will be organized, proactive, and adept at communication across departments. Full-time availability is required, with potential for compressed hours and occasional travel.

The Chief Operating Office Group works closely with the Home Office’s policy and operational commands to enable us to collaboratively deliver the department’s priorities. The Group is comprised of different teams and professional functions, including Commercial, Finance, People, Portfolio and Project Delivery, Security, Estates and Information and Digital, Data and Technology.
The Portfolio and Project Delivery directorate sits within the COO Group and partners programmes across the Home Office; to enable and support delivery of the Department’s change portfolio to improve project delivery, optimise the return on investment, and build professional project delivery capability across the department.
We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Executive Officer to join the Director’s Office and provide vital support to our Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
This is a varied and fast‑paced role where no two days are the same. You’ll be the go‑to person for multiple senior leaders, ensuring their time is well‑managed, their meetings run smoothly, and their priorities are delivered with precision. You’ll contribute significantly to business management and coordination across leadership forums.
You’ll also play a key role in oversight coordination across leadership forums.
You will thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, providing proactive, high‑level support to multiple senior leaders. From managing complex diaries to coordinating strategic meetings, your work will help shape the success of the directorate.
You’ll be part of a close‑knit team that delivers seamless executive support across the leadership group. While you’ll have dedicated leaders to support day‑to‑day, flexibility is key, as you’ll also step in to assist others as needed, ensuring continuity and excellence across the board.
This role is based in Cardiff General Buildings and London 2 Marsham Street (2MS).

Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full‑time basis. However, compressed hours are available.
Occasional travel to other Home Office locations for meetings/events may be required.
