A leading educational organization is seeking an experienced SENCO for a permanent position based in Thetford, Norfolk. This non-teaching role involves supporting students with SEMH and ASD needs across multiple sites. The ideal candidate has a relevant NASENCO qualification and substantial experience in education. Are you an education expert? We are currently seeking to represent an experienced SENCO for a permanent job based in an alternative provision in Thetford, Norfolk (IP24). If you are a SEND specialist who is available from January 2026 onwards, we would be keen to speak with you.
If you are an experienced SENCO or an experienced Deputy SENCO seeking progression who has worked with pupils with SEMH across either primary or secondary phases this role may be for you. We are currently supporting an established alternative provision based in Thetford with their journey of growth. The Executive SENCO role will be split across three sites, 3 days per week at your key site and 1 day per week each at neighbouring sites. Travel between sites can be claimed at 45p per mile. Start dates are to be discussed, however if you are available prior to Christmas to complete a handover period this would be beneficial. The role is offered as non-teaching, however occasional cover may be needed, and the team work together to ensure lessons are delivered as needed for their children. The key site has the capacity for up to 36 children and typically caters for pupils aged 7-17 with SEND requirements such as SEMH and ASD. An informal meeting with the Headteacher can be arranged to discuss the role and needs in more detail.
This site is part of a national trust who are focussed on supporting children with complex behaviours and needs. Their pupils have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, and they work closely with them to develop self-belief to become effective learners.
