Senior Project Manager

About this Opportunity

Join our specialist London Healthcare team as Senior Project Manager! Our London Healthcare team specialise in delivering crucial construction projects for public sector clients, working closely with NHS trusts and healthcare providers to deliver complex refurbishment, fit-out, M&E and new build schemes.

Our independent, multi-disciplinary team facilitate essential upgrades, improvements and critical solutions to hospitals and healthcare facilities, specifically clinical, acute and urgent care environments. We are searching for a project manager with experience delivering construction projects from inception to completion for public sector clients (ideally NHS trusts).

Your role as Senior Project Manager will involve project delivery, guidance & mentoring within the team, and maintaining strong client relations, as well as developing new workstreams where appropriate.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
  • Positively engaging with Customers and developing, growing and maintaining Customer relationships.
  • Delivering high quality services and ensuring that project management and/or programme management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
  • Managing teams to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures.
  • Administrating contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer’s Agent or Project Manager.
  • Producing and presenting reports to Customers.
  • Mentoring and coaching employees so that they realize their full potential.
  • Preparing bids for services.
  • Managing service delivery for profit.
  • Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.
  • Actively identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the Business Units activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience in successfully delivering construction, refurbishment or fit-out projects for NHS clients, specifically in live environments
  • Excellent knowledge of NEC3/4 suites of contracts
  • Broad, in-depth project management and/or programme management experience
  • Detailed knowledge and practiced experience of project management techniques.
  • Sound knowledge of the industry (including factors affecting it) and construction methods and materials.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
  • Ability to administer construction contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer’s Agent and/or Project Manager.
  • Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
  • Ability to motivate others (including providing support and encouragement) and to lead high performance teams
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills.
  • Sound ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage teams.
Qualifications

Possession of one of the following memberships is desirable, though not essential:

  • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors; or
  • MAPM (Member of the Association of Project Managers); or
  • MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Builders); or
  • MICE (Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers); or
  • NEC3/4ECC project management accreditation.
