Job summary

Waterstons, a UK IT consultancy, is seeking an Executive Information Security Consultant with strong OT security expertise. You will lead security engagements for energy-sector clients, shaping information security strategies and assessing OT risks against CAF and IEC ISA 99/62443 standards.

You will build trusted client relationships, identify opportunities, and mentor junior colleagues while staying current with best practices to deliver practical, secure technology solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Information Security with a focus on Operational Technology.
• Experience working with OT networks and energy-sector standards like CAF and IEC ISA 99/62443.
• Ability to build relationships with clients and act as trusted advisor to secure their business through technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Executive Information Security Consultant, you'll have an advanced understanding of, and experience working with, organisations that have OT networks and standards used in the energy sector, such as the Cyber Assessment Framework and IEC ISA 99/62443.

You’ll be helping multiple clients with different aspects of their security. The role is interesting and varied and a great opportunity for those that prefer spontaneity over routine.

Your Day-to-Day

• Delivering projects, including creating information security strategies, risk assessments of OT projects and assessments against frameworks like ISO 27001.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities with clients and prospects.
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members to raise the team's understanding of working with Energy clients.
• Stay updated on the latest information security best practices to provide clients with the best advice.

What We’re Looking For

If some (or most) of the following sound like you, we'd love to hear from you:

• A strong background in Information Security and a focus on working to protect those utilising Operational Technology.
• Advanced understanding and experience of working with organisations that have OT networks and standards utilised in the energy sector, such as the Cyber Assessment Framework and IEC ISA 99/62443.
• The ability to build relationships with prospective and active clients across the business and act as their trusted advisor, helping them to secure their business through the pragmatic use of technology and protect them from incoming threats.
• Someone who enjoys a varied environment, sharing their knowledge and experience to support, coach and mentor colleagues.

Nice to have

• CISSP or CISM.
• 62443 cyber security certificates.
• Experience with the Cyber Assessment Framework, NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-82, IEC ISA 99/62443 and CIS Controls.
• Strong understanding of IT and OT security risks.
• Knowledge of the threat landscape.
• Experience in business development and proposal/tender writing.
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders like CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, and specialist technical teams like security architects.
