Job description
What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking an Executive Head Teacher who will embrace and strengthen this ethos across both schools. Much of your time will be spent at Christ Church C of E Primary School, a voluntary-aided, two-form-entry Church of England primary school, where you will serve as Head Teacher. You will additionally provide strategic leadership and management to Purley Nursery School, a state-maintained nursery with a strong reputation for outstanding early years education.

What the school offers its staff

Flanking a park in suburban South London, the two schools that form the Purley Partnership Federation each have their own distinctive character yet share a common ethos: they are inclusive, nurturing environments where children are supported to achieve their full potential. Our children are diverse, make excellent progress and love coming to school. They benefit from the high standards of education and care provided by committed, capable and hardworking staff. We are looking for a leader who will champion our values, develop our teams, and continue to secure the best possible outcomes for every child. Both schools are firmly rooted in the communities they serve, strengthened by close links with the vibrant parish church situated just across the road, and supported by engaged governors and parents. We seek someone who will nurture these relationships and build on the strong foundations already in place.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment. Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance. Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):

  • childcare disqualification
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
  • medical online and social media prohibition from teaching
  • right to work satisfactory references
  • suitability to work with children
