Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking an experienced finance leader to become Chief Finance Officer, joining the Board as a voting executive director. You will guide financial strategy, long-term planning, income, contracting and assurance to deliver safe, high-quality care.

You will work with NHS Devon ICB and partners on system-wide financial planning, capital investment and cost improvements, while building trust with clinical leaders and the Board.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with significant board-level or equivalent experience in a large, complex organisation.
• Experience of NHS finance governance, financial strategy and system-wide collaboration.
• Proven ability to drive cost improvement and financial efficiency in a regulated sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy, planning, income and contracting, CI, capital investment and audit.
• Oversee procurement, commercial strategy and corporate assurance.
• Provide trusted financial partnership to clinical and operational teams and the Board.
• Collaborate with NHS Devon ICB and partners on system-wide financial planning.
