Role: Executive Assistant and PA


Location: Chorley and South Ribble


Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week/permanent)


Salary: 34,434 - 37,280

Are you highly organised, detail-driven, and ready to play a key role at the heart of local government? We're looking for someone to support our Senior Leadership Team as they lead the councils for Chorley and South Ribble, shaping services that make a real difference to our communities.


This is a dynamic role where your ability to juggle multiple priorities, manage complex diaries, and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders is essential.


What you'll be getting up to


  • Proactively managing complex and busy diaries for senior leaders.

  • Preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes, and ensuring timely follow‑up on actions from meetings.

  • Leading the coordination and timely response to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines, and maintaining high standards of transparency and accountability.

  • Handling complex customer contacts and complaints with professionalism and care.

  • Responding efficiently to enquiries from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintaining and updating electronic files, databases, and records with accuracy and confidentiality.


Who we're looking for


  • Someone with strong interpersonal, customer service and organisational skills.

  • You must have the confidence and ability to work on your own initiative and be able to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

  • Be able to work under pressure, flexibly, and as part of a team.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to communicate in writing with strong numeracy skills.
